Nilanjana Deb is Faculty Member, Project E-QUAL, Jadavpur University and member, Joint Working Group in Human Ecology. She is Senior Assistant Professor, Department of English and completed her PhD from Jadavpur University on histories of aboriginal narratives from Australia and Canada. She has researched and published widely on First Nations literature and culture, and her recent work is on port histories and archives, especially on labour migration through the port of Calcutta. Dr Deb has received prestigious fellowships from Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute, Australia-India Council, and the British Academy. Her scholarly interests include postcolonial studies, ecology, oral cultures, traditional knowledge systems, diaspora, and translation studies.
