Saverio Marchignoli is Faculty Coordinator, Project E-QUAL, at the University of Bologna. He is currently associate professor of Indian Intellectual History in the Department of History and Cultures and has served as Coordinator, Teaching Program in Languages and Cultures of Asia (School of Humanities). He has published extensively on the philosophical encounters between India and Europe, on the interpretations of the Bhagavadgîtâ in the Goethezeit, on the History of Orientalism (including the use of Oriental sources in Giovanni Pico della Mirandola) and on Indian Intellectual History, especially on the meta-religious discourse in Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay and Rammohan Roy.
