Dr J. Prabhakar Rao is Faculty Coordinator, Project E-QUAL, University of Hyderabad. He is currently working as a Professor of Linguistics in the Centre for Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies in the same institution. He is also Head, Centre for Study of Foreign Languages. His research areas of interest include Linguistics, Translation Studies, and Foreign Language teaching and Higher Education in India. In 2012 he was awarded Honoris Causa from Krasnodar State University of Arts and Culture, Russia. He was a visiting Professor to many universities in Europe, Asia and Africa. Professor Rao has conducted a number of national and international seminars/conferences and workshops . He was involved in India-EU Project on establishing “ Centre for Contemporary India studies and Research” in University of Warsaw, Poland from 2009–2012. He has more than 60 international and national Publications to his credit and edited four books (two international and two national). Professor Rao is the member of many international and national Committees in his area of research and higher education in general. He was also instrumental in setting up Centre for Indian Philosophy and Culture, Krasnodar University of Arts and Culture, Russia and Centre for Contemporary India Studies and Culture, University of Latvia, Latvia.
